Low-End General-Purpose Systems
نویسنده
چکیده
Since the announcement of the ZBM System13 in 1%9, ZBM has been incorporating leading-edge technology in products referred to as small general-purpose systems. With the many models of the Systeml3, Systeml32, Systeml34, and System1 38, ZBM has introduced many technological advances addressing the needs of diverse customers, from the novice, firsttime user to the experienced user in the distributed data processing account. By identifying the goals, objectives, design themes, major salient features, and development constraints, this paper reviews and highlights the technical evolution of these products in terms of their systems layout, processor architecture, machine structure, andprogramming support.

Histological Changes of Diaphyse of Tibia and its Central Medulary Chanal Follwing Low-Power Laser Irradiation in Rabbit
Purpose: The reaction of compact bone of diaphyse of tibia and it's bone marrow to low power laser radiation was investigated. Materials and Methods: Ten adult male rabbits were divided randomly into experimental and control groups. Low-power He-Ne laser (36 J/cm2) were radiated into a fixed point of tibia daily for 14 consequative days. Rabbits of control group did not receive laser. At the e...
متن کاملModel-driven Middleware Specialization Techniques for Software Product-line Architectures in Distributed Real-time and Embedded Systems
Product-line architectures (PLA)s are an emerging paradigm for developing software families for distributed real-time and embedded (DRE) systems by customizing reusable artifacts, rather than handcrafting software from scratch. To reduce the effort of developing software PLAs and product variants for DRE systems, it is common to leverage general-purpose – ideally standard – middleware platforms...
متن کاملUsing General-Purpose Planning for Action Selection in Human-Robot Interaction
A central problem in designing and implementing interactive systems—action selection—is also a core research topic in automated planning. While numerous toolkits are available for building end-to-end interactive systems, the tight coupling of representation, reasoning, and technical frameworks found in these toolkits often makes it difficult to compare or change the underlying domain models. In...
متن کاملSmart Home, The Next Generation: Closing the Gap between Users and Technology
In this paper we discuss the gap that exists between the caregivers of older adults attempting to age-in-place and sophisticated ”smart-home” systems that can sense the environment and provide assistance when needed. We argue that smart-home systems need to be customizable by end-users, and we present a general-purpose model for cognitive assistive technology that can be adapted to suit many di...
متن کاملBackground, Motivation and a Retrospective View of the BLAS
During the initial development of computers in the 1940’s and early 1950’s the chain of intermediate technologists between the computer designer/builder and the computer user was very short. In fact it was not uncommon for one individual to be actively involved in the design, construction, and application of a computer. By 1970 there was a significant amount of infrastructure between the comput...
